These sessions run every fourth Saturday in the month (except for December)
For those who have some experience of printmaking you will have the opportunity to use the studio, presses and equipment. Helen will be on hand for any help or advice needed.

Exploring Drawing through Monoprint
You are encouraged to bring drawings, images and ideas along with you to develop over the two day workshop.
Day 1
Using existing ideas you will have a One to One with me to expand and select a focus area for you to work on. Using a variety of objects and materials you will explore the textures and surfaces made to create the desired effects required for your individual work. Rolling ink on plate and surfaces you will begin to create a composition for your work, using line and drawing.
Day 2
Using a mask technique you will learn how to create space and depth within your drawings. Using large surfaces of glass you will make a large monoprint incorporating textures and line with collaged elements from day one.
Where is a final crit and show of work at the end of day two.

Collographs
Over this 2 day workshop you will plan, create, and construct a Collograph out of a range of interesting and varied recycled materials.
Day 1
Using drawings, images and photographs you will learn; what makes a good Collograph and how to construct one. Using our new found knowledge we will plan and construct our Collographs, with a varied range of recycled materials. Exploring which materials are appropriate, in relation to your design, looking at texture, surface and pattern. Finally sealing our work with button polish, ready for day 2!
Day 2
After admiring our Collographs, as they are wonderful things in their own right we can do our first proof print! You will then learn how to ink up your plate using 'intaglio' printing method with scrim. Exploring colour ranges, and subtle pallets, to enhance your print. Considering types of paper, wet and dry printing with a final relief layer, leaving with your wonderful prints to impress your friends.

Cyanotype Workshop
The cyanotype process was developed as one of the early photographic processes in the late 1800's and there has been a revival alongside. Camera obscura to 'do it yourself' with photographs. The results are interesting, sometimes experimental and - dead easy!
Day 1
We will prepare our papers and materials using a variety and prepare our negatives. Here we will give in a little to technology by using an inkjet printer and app. And yes the end of the day should have some cyanotype pictures ready to study together.
Day 2
We will continue to incorporating toning processes and by end of the day I promise you will have a pile of pictures and an enthusiasm to carry on and do more at home!

Non Toxic Etching
This is a workshop suitable for beginners and experienced printers alike and covers the ancient process of etching practiced by The old masters and more recent artists alike to reproduce their work. In these days where pollution and environmental issues are foremost, We are using safer chemicals and household materials. You will see that with a little outlay you can become a home etcher and produce exciting results using products like floor polish, soy sauce and coffee.
Day 1
We will cover the process of etching from preparing an aluminium plate, applying hard and soft ground to produce the image and use an open bite process as an alternative to resin based process.. We will use a saline etch instead of traditional acids and you will see the exciting results from printing up some proofs by the end of the day.
Day 2
We can continue working our images or use a variety of inking up techniques or chine colle to produce wonderful colourful experimental etchings.
